Physical Education

We are fortunate to have the use of the Haddon Recreation Centre for our sport sessions at school. Students participate in a minimum of two hours of physical activity a week within the school timetable. It is important that all students wear suitable foot wear to activity participate in the sport program.  Runners are necessary for P.E. for proper foot care and use of the Hall. If girls wear dresses/skirts, sports knickers are appropriate. There are a number of different sporting activities during the year which the year 3-6 students take part in and parents will be informed of the event and the cost involved.

Art

Students participate in a one-hour, timetabled visual arts lesson each week in the art room with our Art Specialist teacher. These lessons provide students with opportunities to explore a range of materials, techniques, and styles while expressing their ideas and creativity.

Visual arts learning plays an important role in supporting students’ imagination, confidence, and problem-solving skills. Through creating and responding to art, students develop fine motor skills, learn to think creatively, and build pride in their work. Art also supports wellbeing by giving children a positive and expressive outlet.

To protect clothing during art lessons, students are required to bring an art smock.

Music and Performing Arts

In 2026, we are excited to deliver a music and performing arts program that gives students opportunities to explore, create, and perform. Through music, drama, and performance, students will build confidence, creativity, and self-expression, while learning to work together, communicate their ideas, and connect with others.

The program also supports social and emotional learning by helping students develop self-confidence, resilience, and empathy. It strengthens literacy skills as students listen, speak, read, and respond to stories, lyrics, and performances, helping them grow as confident communicators and engaged learners.

Library

Students are welcome to borrow books from the school library once a week during their allocated library session. Each grade has one hour of library time, giving students the opportunity to enjoy stories, explore new topics, and develop positive reading habits.

Regular borrowing is strongly encouraged, as sharing books at home supports a love of reading and helps build literacy skills.

Reader bags are available from the school office to help students look after their library books and transport them safely between home and school.
